Melting Pot: Community Cafe

IA have worked closely with the locality of Podsmead, in Gloucester, to work with them to improve their community centre facility. The existing hub building sits at the centre of the district, running the Big Local initiative with café facility for residents, as well as running advice sessions.

Through community consultation we have assisted with the formation of a phased brief, with key members of the community and project team, supported by National Lottery funding.

The proposed refurbishment and extension designs looked to firstly create an outdoor growing garden, integrate a new kitchen and café layout for ‘the melting pot’, flexible open plan office space, as well as music recording, and community garden areas.

The first phase of refurbishments to the ground floor of the hub were completed in January 2018.
