Pocket Parks East Brum
Working with The National Trust we co-designed and made in co-build days and co-creation with four wonderful communities of East Birmingham, four pocket parks, in partnership with Birmingham City Council.
The project forms part of the National Trusts ambition to address unequal access to nature, beauty and history in towns and cities, with East Birmingham as a priority area to improve access to quality green space.
In collaboration with Open Door Community in Firs & Bromford, and the Unity Hubb in Ward End, the close sharing and skills of planning, construction, horticultural, together in engagement, collated into varied delivered green spaces with structures and planting strategies. Maintenance and legacy was considered and dedicated resource provided to staff resource, tools, plants and materials to upkeep and care for their own pocket parks in the future.
